Feelings & Actions

I've noticed that people act differently than they feel. Essentially, people defy their feelings in favor of doing what they perceive as being correct. For example, a friend is involved with an organization that drives her nuts, but she hasn't left it yet. She doesn't get paid, and it causes her an incredible amount of stress, but somehow she can't walk away. It's like a bad abusive relationship or something, and I want to tell her that she deserves better and should walk away.

Not that I'm any better. Lots of things bother me, but I don't walk away from them, or confront the situation. For example, my fiance's mother got us tickets for a show a few weeks ago and I so did not want to go. Still, I went, and spent three hours wanting to fall asleep from boredom.

I think we do things because they're right and helpful, but in my friend's case, she should leave because she's unhappy, and in mine, I should have found a way to politely decline because someone else might have enjoyed the ticket more than I would have.

On another note, I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving weekend and enjoyed eating a lot of food. I messed up pretty badly on the weight loss front, and I need to improve that quickly. I have to lose five pounds in the upcoming months, which should be a reasonable goal, but isn't easy when you love to eat. One size smaller...that's all I need. Although a few sizes would be nice.

Hello

Hello everyone,

I'm Cadence. It's not my real name, but it's what I'll be going by on here. I am a big fan of eHow.com and Bukisa.com. Join my network on Bukisa, if you'd like.

I love board games and bad reality TV. I also like to make beaded jewelry. That's a start. More to come.
